Seminar Series: Educational Topic: AI – Concepts Explained and its Uses in Medica

Medica was proud to host the first of it’s virtual Seminar Series on 14th October when reporters had the opportunity to hear updates from the Medica Executive Team and ask them questions directly.
The next in the Series will be on Wednesday 9th December 18:00-19:00
This will be an Education Seminar that will attract CPD points, please join us for: Seminar Series: AI – Concepts Explained and Uses in Medica By Dr Garry Pettet.
Medica reporters will receive a registration link in their emails.
Dr. Garry Pettet is a consultant radiologist with an extensive background in software engineering. He has over 15 years of open source programming experience in a variety of programming languages and frameworks.
He’s created (or contributed to) numerous projects and apps covering a wide range of domains including programming language design, natural language parsing, DICOM parsing and machine learning. He’s passionate about utilising software to improve patient care and radiologist productivity.
He now works for Medica contributing to their future technology plans in addition to general radiology reporting with a subspecialist interest in paediatrics and neuroradiology.
Learning Objectives for Garry’s lecture on AI will cover:

Understanding the meaning of several common AI terms
Gaining insight into the techniques used to construct AI software
Awareness of the limitations of AI and use your new understanding of its implementation to evaluate it
Appreciate the current state of the art
