Megan Hughes, (Recruitment Specialist) and Fiona Carr (Group Head of HR), were in attendance at the East Sussex Employer Engagement & Celebration Event this summer, representing Medica, one of the largest employers in the Hastings and St Leonards area.
The event, which took place at Eastbourne’s View Hotel, is organised by the East Sussex Careers Hub, their mission is to “inspire and prepare young people for the world of work”. The event was a huge success and supports Medica’s commitment to engaging the local community, some of whom may not know that there is an international company, that is growing rapidly, right on their doorstep.
“It was great to meet the future workforce, the enthusiasm and the energy at the event was palpable!” Says Megan, who joined Medica in 2022. Medica have become an ‘Industry Champion’ and will continue to attend the careers events to help young people get into employment. Medica has a wide variety of job opportunities and can advise on what it takes to come on board in one of our many departments, be it finance, HR, marketing, IT and everything in between. Medica’s role as an industry champion at this event included offering mock interviews, one of the more popular activities of the day. Anyone who wanted to know more about us, was invited to book a workplace visit and tour. Furthermore, Medica are interested in offering work experience placements and apprenticeships to those who want to get a head-start on their career.
