LONDON:

Event: BIR Gynaecology Imaging Update
When: 25th January 2019
Where: Etc. Venues The Hatton, London

This event will help bring radiologists up to date with modern imaging techniques in gynae cancer imaging. In particular the topics will move beyond simple staging and will deal more with functional imaging techniques and how they can provide prognostic information and allow assessment of disease response.

 

LONDON:

Event: HC-UK Improving Radiology Reporting: digital Imaging summit
When: 28th January 2019
Where: De Vere West One, London

This conference focuses on the important issue of improving radiology reporting turnaround times. The 2018 national review of radiology reporting within the NHS in England by the Care Quality Commission found huge variation in radiology reporting highlighting trusts that had backlogs of 33,400 unreported images (the oldest images had been waiting to be reported for eight months).

 

LONDON:

Event: RCR Radionuclide Study Day
When: 1st February 2019
Where: Royal College Radiologists, London

This meeting is aimed at radiologists and allied health professionals with an interest in nuclear medicine and PET-CT. There will be a range of talks from expert speakers covering both nuclear medicine and PET-CT topics.

This will include an update on current regulatory and commissioning issues as well as clinical talks on DaTSCAN quantification, SPECT-CT of prosthetic joints, PET reconstruction algorithms and the role of PET-CT in cardiovascular disease.

 

LIVERPOOL:

Event: 21st BSGAR Annual Meeting
When: 7th February 2019
Where: Exhibition Centre, Liverpool

The 21st Annual BSGAR meeting (2019) will be the first ever joint meeting of the BSGAR and BSUR.  The meeting will be held at the Liverpool Exhibition Centre with accommodation, workshops and subsidary meetings held at the Pullman Hotel next door to the Exhibtion Centre.

 

LONDON:

Event: BIR Whole body MRI myeloma and bone disease
When: 15th February 2019
Where: University of Liverpool, London

The NICE guidelines now specify that best practice for staging myeloma is whole body imaging. With this in mind, the BIR is running this interactive workshop for radiologists and radiographers to discuss and learn the principles of setting up whole body MRI and image interpretation. This workshop will teach delegates how to acquire the right scans for MRI in myeloma and how to present and interpret the images, via a mixture of interactive workstation-based sessions and short presentations.

 

LONDON:

Event: Convensis – Patient Flow: Urgent and Emergency Care
When: 27th February 2019
Where: etc Venues Prospero House, London

Across the NHS, staff work around the clock to deliver the best possible care to more patients than ever before, but it’s becoming increasingly difficult as demand continues to rise.The current system is under increasing pressure, NHS England wants to improve the urgent and emergency care (UEC) system, so patients get the right care in the right place, whenever they need it.Technology is changing and so is the way people access services and that’s why we are piloting NHS 111 online which will mean people can access urgent care services over the internet.In the future, health records will also be available to clinicians however a patient accesses the health service, whether this is through NHS 111, by ambulance, their GP or A&E.NHS England has set in place a series of pilots and programmes that will help to manage the current demand that the Urgent and emergency care services face, our conference will give you first-hand insight into these impending changes.

Event: BIR MSK organised by the BIR Scotland branch

Where: Royal College of Surgeons, Edinburgh

A one-day meeting aimed at general radiologists and trainees, aiming to cover refreshment of core knowledge in the field of musuculoskeltal radiology including trauma, spinal, tumour and sports imaging, delivered by specialist MSK radiologists from Scotland and across the UK.

Event: 5th Errors in Radiology Course
When: 14th March 2019
Where: Radiology Academy, Leeds General Infirmary

 

LONDON:

Event: BIR MSK Imaging Series: Shoulder
When: 20th March 2019
Where: etc Venues Farringdon – The Hatton

Imaging plays a key role in the diagnosis and management of shoulder pathology. This one day event focuses on current concepts in imaging and imageguided intervention in frequently encountered shoulder presentations together with the clinical assessment and management strategies available for these patients.

 

LONDON:

Event: BIR/RCR Artificial Intelligence
When: 22nd March 2019
Where: etc Venues County Hall, London

This popular joint event organised by The British Institute of Radiology and Royal College of Radiologists on Artificial Intelligenceis back again in 2019!

This one-day event will provide an update on where we are with regards to artificial intelligence in the field of radiology. It will provide specific insights into the current and future applications of AI including deep learning in radiology, machine learning and computer-aided diagnosis with appropriate clinical applications.

 

LEICESTER:

Event: BSSR Spring Meeting
When: 22nd March 2019
Where: etc Venues County Hall, London

The BSSR is the premier organisation for musculoskeletal radiologists in the UK and a special interest group of the Royal College of Radiologists. The society holds regular educational meetings and provides a national forum for discussion of issues relating to musculoskeletal radiology imaging and practice

 

BIRMINGHAM:

Event: Medical Imaging Convention
When: 26th March 2019
Where: NEC, Birmingham

The Medical Imaging Convention the UK’s dedicated event that offers a comprehensive program on the latest innovations in imaging diagnosis and treatment, to UK-based medical imaging professionals and their senior management teams. The event provides the most up-to-date research, data and developments that can enable better patient outcomes, efficiency and cost-effectiveness in UK medical imaging.
