About Dr Stephen Davies
Dr Stephen Davies MA FRCP FRCR was appointed as Medical Director at MEDICA in May 2013. He undertook pre-clinical studies at Cambridge (Sidney Sussex College) 1975-78 and his clinical studies at The Royal London 1978-1981. Having gained MRCP whilst Medical Registrar at Kings College Hospital he moved back to The Royal London for Radiology Training. He was appointed as a Consultant Radiologist in 1991 to Cwm Taf Health Board where he worked full-time until May 2013 and then part-time until his retirement in December 2016.
He was President of the British Institute of Radiology 2010-2012, UKRC President for 2008 and 2009 Congresses, Associate Dean and Head of Radiology School in Wales 2005-2011 and Quality Assurance Lead for Education for the Clinical Radiology Faculty at the RCR 2010-2012. He is a musculoskeletal radiologist and is an accredited Expert Witness. He is a Visiting Professor at the University of Glamorgan.
His radiological profile is as a musculoskeletal and general radiology. He has an interest in performance in doctors which stems from his time as Head of the Wales Radiology Training School.
As Medical Director at MEDICA Reporting he has responsibility for Clinical Governance and oversight of the Clinical Strategy. He is a Board Member and Responsible Officer.
In October 2015, he was awarded the Distinguished Service Medal by The British Institute of Radiology.
