Every year, Medica hosts its highly anticipated annual party, and this year’s event, titled “Medica in Miami”, took place at the Sussex Exchange in Hastings. The occasion embraced a lively tropical theme, complete with flamingos, palm trees and a vibrant display of Hawaiian shirts.
In line with Medica’s tradition of community support, the company annually selects a charity to benefit, and for 2023, Hastings Foodbank was the chosen recipient. Medica employees played a pivotal role in this charitable endeavour and were encouraged to invite their partners and plus ones to the event, with ticket proceeds and fundraising efforts on the night donated to charity.
Adding excitement to the festivities was the introduction of the “wheel of misfortune”, offering attendees the opportunity to win star prizes or participate in entertaining forfeits for a nominal fee of £1 per spin.
In total, the Medica team rallied together, raising an impressive £1026 for Hastings Foodbank. The impact of this generous donation is expected to deeply resonate within the local community, offering crucial support to individuals currently facing challenges and hardships.
Medica’s commitment to community support also extended beyond financial contributions, as the company also organised an in-office food collection for the foodbank.
Paula Buontempo, Administrator at Hastings Foodbank, expressed her gratitude: “We want to extend a HUGE thank you to Medica for your generous contributions of food and money. Last month, we distributed food parcels to 1194 people, providing a total of 25,074 meals. We greatly appreciate it here at the foodbank, as do our clients.”
