MEDICA attended this year’s UK Radiological Congress (UKRCO) in Liverpool. Members of our Service Delivery, Clinical Governance, Recruitment and Business Development teams were in attendance, together with Radiologists and Radiographers from our Clinical Advisory team.

MEDICA invited delegates to take part in a quiz about their services and the wider UK teleradiology market. Over 150 delegates took part and were entered into the prize draw for an iPad.

Kate Lewins, a Radiology Project Manager and Senior Radiographer based at Dorset County Hospital NHS Foundation Trust was our 2018 winner.  She was presented with her iPad by Andy Bulpett from the MEDICA Business Development team.

On accepting her prize, Kate said I am pleased I took the time to enter the Medica Quiz at UKRC in Liverpool, I now have a brand new iPad which will really help me to be ‘paperless’ at the many meetings I attend at work!”

About MEDICA

MEDICA is the UK market leader in the provision of teleradiology services, providing outsourced interpretation and reporting on MRI (magnetic resonance imaging), CT (computerised tomography) and plain film (x-ray) images. The Company currently offers three primary services to hospital radiology departments: NightHawk, an out-of-hours emergency service, routine cross-sectional reporting on MRI and CT scans, and routine plain film reporting on x-ray images.

MEDICA has developed a bespoke secure IT platform that provides market-leading linkage between a hospital’s Radiology Information System (RIS) and Consultant Radiologists who contract with MEDICA. Direct RIS access ensures that the full wider patient information is available and reviewed with every report.

The Company contracts with the largest pool of consultant radiologists outside of the NHS and has been trusted to provide more than 1.5 million examinations annually across its customer base of more than 100 NHS Trusts and various private hospital groups and diagnostic imaging companies.
