Learning and Continued Medical Education
Supporting our radiologists through ongoing radiology learning and education, in partnership with JCA Seminars.
At Medica, we ensure our radiologists are provided with ongoing training, learning and medical education.
JCA Medical Seminars
In 2023, Medica acquired JCA Medical Seminars, who offer an exclusive range of clinical imaging seminars, available to support radiologists, cardiologists, registrars and radiographers from around the world in gaining continued medical education. Our reporters have access to these courses with the opportunity to be involved in speaking and shaping course agendas.
Take a look at our extensive range of imaging courses coming up, available virtually, on-demand and in-person, in study locations ranging from the UK and Europe to the Middle East, Asia and Australasia.
Our Seminar Series
Every month, we hold a live webinar, our Seminar Series, for all radiologists working for Medica to ensure skills and best practice are maintained and enhanced. We also have a back catalogue available, covering over 50 hours of radiology content, which can be accessed on-demand where CME points can be obtained following review of anything in the series.
Examples of our medical education topics include:
- Professionalism in Teleradiology
- REAL – Interventional Vascular
- Hints and Tips for Appraisal and Revalidation – for connected reporters and IWPA
- When bone marrow doesn’t look right, infection, infarction, infiltration or another insult
- An overview of Major Trauma and its close relative, Silver Trauma
- Resilience Tips Following Discrepancy Notifications
- REAL – Cross-Sectional Imaging – Neuroradiology
- The Science of Seeing in Radiology
Educational case reviews
Our reporters receive a monthly Educational Case Review, published by the Clinical Team, which includes anonymised cases, identified through the discrepancy and reporting process. Reporters are encouraged to submit interesting cases so that learning points can be shared with other radiology reporters.
We also give full access to STATdx as a clinical resource and are invited to train in audit and appraisal amongst other development opportunities (e.g. working abroad).
