Elective reporting clinical specialties

With our specialist radiologists and consultant radiologist reporters, we have the expertise to deliver timely and accurate reporting for the below elective specialties.

Sub-specialties

X-ray

Our X-ray radiology reporting involves the interpretation and analysis of images captured through traditional X-ray techniques. Expert radiologists examine these images to identify and diagnose various conditions such as fractures, infections, or abnormalities in bones and soft tissues. The reporting process provides valuable information to healthcare professionals, aiding in treatment decisions and patient management.

Body CT

Body CT radiology reporting covers the comprehensive analysis of images obtained through computed tomography (CT) scans of the body. Specialised radiologists meticulously assess the detailed cross-sectional images to identify and characterise abnormalities in organs, tissues, and structures. This reporting is essential for accurate diagnosis, treatment planning and monitoring of a wide range of medical conditions, offering valuable insights to healthcare providers.

HRCT (High-Resolution Computed Tomography) / Chest

Our chest scan teleradiology reporting services produce detailed analysis of images to assess lung structures, identify pulmonary abnormalities and characterise lung diseases such as interstitial lung disease or lung nodules. The information derived from HRCT chest radiology reporting is crucial for accurate diagnosis and management planning in respiratory and thoracic conditions, contributing to improved patient care.

Breast MR

Our breast MR radiology reporting is covered by a network of specialist radiologists, reporting on MRI scans specifically focused on breast tissues to detect and characterise breast lesions. Our reporting provides critical information for breast cancer diagnosis, staging and treatment planning, playing a vital role in enhancing the accuracy of breast imaging and guiding healthcare professionals in delivering personalised care for patients with breast-related concerns.

ENT

Our ENT radiology reporting includes interpretations of images and scans associated with the ears, nose and throat, and any adjacent areas. Supporting hospitals and healthcare professionals with imaging and scan reports, our radiologists and consultants provide crucial insights for accurate diagnosis and treatment planning.

See how we helped this NHS Trust with elective reporting

Despite a well-organised Radiology department and an experienced team of consultant radiologists, the Trust, that had never outsourced its radiology reporting before, sought Medica’s support with reducing a backlog of unreported CT and MRI scans that developed throughout 2021.

The Trust required radiologists to support the in-house team so partnered with Medica to supply radiology reporting which was delivered by a panel of radiologists of an equivalent level to the team at the hospital.

During the deployment phase, regular meetings took place to monitor and keep momentum on actions.

Weekly review meetings continued once reporting commenced to ensure that the service met expected levels and any queries were clarified in a timely manner.

Medica’s team of expert clinicians provided capacity to efficiently reduce the reporting backlog in eight weeks.

The quality of reporting was audited by the hospital team who were pleased with the standard delivered by Medica radiologists.

The team also confirmed that Medica’s process for clinicians to raise queries directly with Medica’s Clinical Governance department had been followed successfully.
