See how we helped this NHS Trust with elective reporting
Despite a well-organised Radiology department and an experienced team of consultant radiologists, the Trust, that had never outsourced its radiology reporting before, sought Medica’s support with reducing a backlog of unreported CT and MRI scans that developed throughout 2021.
The Trust required radiologists to support the in-house team so partnered with Medica to supply radiology reporting which was delivered by a panel of radiologists of an equivalent level to the team at the hospital.
During the deployment phase, regular meetings took place to monitor and keep momentum on actions.
Weekly review meetings continued once reporting commenced to ensure that the service met expected levels and any queries were clarified in a timely manner.
Medica’s team of expert clinicians provided capacity to efficiently reduce the reporting backlog in eight weeks.
The quality of reporting was audited by the hospital team who were pleased with the standard delivered by Medica radiologists.
The team also confirmed that Medica’s process for clinicians to raise queries directly with Medica’s Clinical Governance department had been followed successfully.
