Medica’s quality management system for radiology in the UK is certified to the ISO 9001 standard. The standard is based on a number of quality management principles including a strong customer focus, the motivation and implication of top management, process approach and continual improvement. Combined with our other quality accreditations (QSI and CHKS) this standard ensures that Medica continues to provide the highest quality of service to our clients and their patients.

Medica is assessed and certified against the Cyber Essentials standard for its radiology services. This is an effective, government-backed scheme that helps to ensure that Medica is protected against cyber security risks. The certification gives Medica’s clients the peace of mind that our security defences will protect against the vast majority of common cyber attacks. Whilst Cyber Essentials focuses on common IT security risks it complements our wider ISO 27001 certified security management system.

Medica’s telepathology reporting service, MedPath, is certified to the ISO15189:2022 standard. This medical laboratory accreditation ensures that Medica provides and maintains high quality, performance and competence within histopathology reporting. This standard has a focus on quality of laboratory processes and operation of a quality management system.

Medica’s teleradiology services are accredited by UKAS to BS 70000:2017, this standard assures the quality, safety and competence of healthcare services. This accreditation evidences our robust clinical governance practices across our imaging services as well as our mature quality management system which covers areas such as, validating methods, technical controls, measurement traceability, incident management and continuous improvement – ensuring our clients and patients can rely on safe, consistent, and reliable reporting.

Medica has obtained the QSI (Quality Standard in Imaging) Quality Mark Award, provided by the Royal College of Radiologists. This award shows that our service demonstrates excellence in quality, technical competence, and governance and ensures high standards in our imaging services, covering aspects such as clinical quality, safety, and effective management.
