Excellence in our DNA

At Medica, we have excellence in our DNA and pride ourselves on our clinical quality, our highly skilled teams and our innovative technology. Our accreditations and certificates demonstrate this excellence every day.

Accreditations and Certificates

Read about our accreditations and certificates below:

CHKS

Our imaging services in Ireland are compliant with the UKAS accredited CHKS Standard, meaning our processes and standards meet internationally recognised best practice, legislation and regulatory requirements.

Accreditation by UKAS to the CHKS Standard provides a standards-based framework for quality assurance and quality improvement. Taking part in the process of accreditation gives an organisation the resilience and vigilance required to deliver consistently high-quality healthcare services.

Quality Standard for Imaging

The Quality Standard for Imaging (QSI) sets national quality criteria for imaging services. The QSI is a collaboration between The Royal College of Radiologists (RCR) and the College of Radiographers (CoR).

Our UKAS Accreditation against the QSI Standard ensures that Medica’s service contributes to improving the quality of our reporting service in the UK. We are regularly audited and assessed to ensure that our high-quality service and best practice improves patient care and outcomes. Clinical practice is a continually evolving field, and implementation of the QSI Standard means that we are independently assessed every year.

ISO 9001

Medica’s quality management system for radiology in the UK is certified to the ISO 9001 standard. The standard is based on a number of quality management principles including a strong customer focus, the motivation and implication of top management, process approach and continual improvement. Combined with our other quality accreditations (QSI and CHKS) this standard ensures that Medica continues to provide the highest quality of service to our clients and their patients.

ISO 27001

Our information security management system is certified to the globally recognised ISO 27001 standard. This certification ensures that Medica continues to manage the security and privacy of data entrusted to us by our customers and all other information including our employees and reporters.

Cyber Essentials Plus

Medica is assessed and certified against the Cyber Essentials standard for its radiology services. This is an effective, government-backed scheme that helps to ensure that Medica is protected against cyber security risks. The certification gives Medica’s clients the peace of mind that our security defences will protect against the vast majority of common cyber attacks. Whilst Cyber Essentials focuses on common IT security risks it complements our wider ISO 27001 certified security management system.

Living Wage Employer

In 2021 Medica signed up to The Living Wage Foundation’s ‘Real Living Wage’ to recognise our existing commitment to our employees in the UK. The Real Living Wage is calculated by what people need to live on in both London and across the UK. This rate is higher than the National Living Wage. Medica is proud to pay all employees and contractors the Real Living Wage or higher.

The Circle Back Initiative

We are a Circle Back Initiative Employer, bringing meaning to the candidate experience by committing to respond to all applicants. By signing up for the Circle Back Initiative, we are making a commitment, along with other employers, to ensure EVERY candidate who applies for a role at Medica receives an outcome response.

Industry Champion

Medica, as a dedicated Industry Champion, actively participates in various careers events each year, connecting with local schools and colleges in East Sussex to provide support and guidance to the next generation.

As a service provider to the NHS and other private healthcare institutions Medica is registered with the Care Quality Commission, the independent regulator of all health and social care services in England.
