Hello, I’m Sonal, a radiologist and the Clinical Lead for Medica, currently based in India. Although I’m originally from India, I spent several years in England working as a radiologist with the NHS. I found my job incredibly fulfilling and had no plans to leave. However, a change in my family situation, brought me back to India, where I settled into family life.

After returning, I discovered that I could continue reporting for the NHS through a teleradiology company, Medica. This opportunity was a precisely what I was looking for. I chose Medica because they provide direct access to the full patient history, making it feel like I’m still working in the hospital in England.

Reporting for Medica feels just as rewarding as being on-site in the UK. An added benefit is that I get to maintain my GMC registration, which is important for my professional standing.

Living back in India, I’m happy to be near my family, enjoying the local culture and climate. The flexibility of my work with Medica allows me to balance my professional commitments effectively, which is especially important for spending quality time with my children. I also have the opportunity to work for my local hospital and continue my involvement with the Accessible MRI Workshop at the Indian National Science Academy (INSA) in New Delhi. This project aims to make MRI technology more accessible in India and globally.

The remuneration with Medica is good, the work flexibility is excellent, and setting up my workstation was straightforward with all the necessary equipment provided.

My journey with Medica has allowed me to blend professional satisfaction with personal fulfilment and family time. For those looking to balance life, family, and a career as a radiologist, all from India, Medica is the perfect solution.
